Commercial Description:
This deep mahogany beer is full bodied with a dense brown head balancing malty sweet chocolate and caramel flavors with the coffee-like character of black malt. Just enough hops are added to highlight the deep rich malt character.

Nice Cascade stout aroma. Pitchy with a silky khaki head. Very, very smooth - chickory, cocoa, lightly sweet (lactose?), mild coffee. Excellent pH. Some pruney fruit. Long building bitter finish. Not much CO2. A fine brewpub offering, but more of a stout.

Black with tan head & lacing. The aroma has some old hops along with light roastyness and a creamy mocha flavor. Very refreshing porter with balance & slight oxidation. Alcohol bite.

Tap. Coffee, chocolate and ash aroma. Opaque black-brown color with small film of a head.. Smooth dark chocolate flavor with a mild astringent finish. Very full flavored porter - very well made.

Dark mahogany black, with a thin, dense creamy tan head. It has a light roasty aroma. The flavor is excellent with a big, bold roast, a little chocolate. There's a nice supporting bit of citrusy hops that are noticeable but in the background. The main flaw is that the bitterness is a bit rough in the finish. A stout-like porter.

This was overall a pretty tasty porter. Nice lingering flavors of chocolate mocha, with some toasted malt, and a surprising bit of hops in there as well. Tasty.

On tap at the BBB in Augusta: Nice dark color with thick tan head. Aroma is rich and roasty with an emphasis on malt. Very smooth, caramely sweet and full body with a roasted lingering finish. A nice porter.

Draft. Opaque black with a creamy and lasting head. Aroma of earthy-spiced chocolate and coffee. Flavors of chicory coffee, chocolate, charred wood, and earthy oak. Light-medium bodied, smooth and dryish.
