decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Feb 28, 2009 Orange with off white head and lace. Light caramel on the nose. Light caramel with nice light reisiny finish. A bit thin but with good carbonation. A tick away from being very good. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Feb 7, 2009 on tap-pours an off white head and red color. Aroma is sweet medium malt-caramel, some spice hops. Taste is sweet medium malt-caramel, some perfumy/spice hops. Oakes (8058), gone rambling, Vietnam Feb 7, 2009 Golden amber-brown. Toasty, caramelly nose. Lots of rich earthy caramel character. Nicely made - rich and chewy for the style. Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Feb 6, 2009 Clear amber, with small tan head. Diacetyl aroma is off-putting but there is some nuttiness beneath. Soft carbonation. Major butter bomb and way too sweet too. Nutty, and has either seen better days or is not living up to its potential. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA Jun 5, 2008 Rich toasted malts in the nose and in the flavor. A hint of caramel, and some sweet honey nuttiness. On the border of being medium bodied, light and crisp on the palate. Really easy to drink. nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Sep 21, 2007 Updated: Sep 16, 2008Draft. Clear amber with a creamy head that has good retention. Dried, toasted nut and yeast aroma. Flavor is slightly sweet toasted nut that has those unique British dry, earthy hop and yeast flavors that increase slightly in the middle and finish. Light-medium body and dry palate. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 12/16/2006

CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Apr 21, 2007 Growler courtesy of kp sampled on 1/4/07: Pours a slightly hazy copper red with a thin, wispy white head. Aroma of lightly sweet, toasty crystal malts and a mild citrusy hoppiness. Body starts with a lightly sweet toasty, earthy maltiness toward a blander bittersweet finish. An average red ale.
