Commercial Description:
Deep amber in color with a dense rich foamy head. The flavor is dominated by toasted malts with hints of caramel and very well balanced with English hops.

Growler. Poured a hazy dark orange copper color with a small off-white head. The aroma was mildly hoppy with notes of oranges and some citrus with a sweet candy malt underneath. Malty cereal flavor with some citrus and sweet fruit. There was a hint of tartness on the finish.

Tap. Caramel/toffee malt and light hops aroma. Reddish amber color with moderate head - very pretty. Creamy caramel malt flavor with a mild hops finish. Very good.

Tap at Brewery: hefty amouts of carbonation, thin to no head... nice deep red color. A little thicker palet than most marzen/ambers... an ever so slight hop, but lots of malt flavors. Nice light smooth eazy drinking brew. a very safe, but nice beer

Deep red hue with an off white head. Almost not aroma as you start to sip. Very little to set this apart from a commercial beer. Too bad. The aftertaste reminded me of cough syrup. Not a bad beer, but their stout and gran cru are far better for me.

This is one of those beers that has the potential to be great, but just slips and falls by the way side. This is just lacking a few key ingredients. It really needs a strong malt character to back up the flavor. Just too light for my taste.
