Airbräu Kumulus

(7/5/08) Draught at the brewpub in Munich airport. Cloudy yellow-orange with a big white head. Wheaty fruity aroma with some bubblegum. Sweetish flavor with some wheaty fruitiness, acidic hints and light bitterness in the finish. Medium-bodied.

Appearance: Amber orange-copper. Hazed with large snow cap and ornate lacing. 4+.
Nose: Strong traditional weizen aroma. Slightly drier than average sample. Citric, slightly tangy with sweeter caramel like centre. Aroma similarly to Flieger got rounder and fuller as it warmed up.
Flavor/Palate : Medium bodied wheat. Slightly strange with its ash like sweetness which presented not in bad way. Fairly soft as well lighter and not as complex as some. Kumuls was good , drinkable break while waiting few hours at airport. Great for relaxing …

Dark yellow colored with hazy appearance. Medium sized white head. Banana dominates aroma with yeast. Medium bodied, crispy palate. Flavor has also strong banana, mild spices and softening yeast also here. Basic one.

Much hazier than pictured. Spicerack clovey nose with pepper-sprinkled banana. Estery fruit and spice balanced with biscuit. Orange, lemon and banana squash dosed with pepper. Lingering dunked digestive. Almost zesty, orange rind-like fruit. Very nicely rounded weiss, danke.

After walking through Munich I was thirsty and didnt have time to stop at the beer gardens in the city. I saw this pub on my way to the airport and got some bratwurst and sauerkraut and one of these beers. It was absolutely delicious and perfect with a meal. Served at the perfect temperature and went down easy. Be careful though if you have a flight. The angry, bitter, middle-aged woman sitting in the aisle seat next to you might flip-out after your third trip to the bathroom. Keep it in mind.
