Tap at the brewpub as Russian Imperial Stout. Black toast aroma. Full body; creamy carbonation. Treacle, burnt malt and a touch of coffee. Really smooth. Not syrupy. Good stuff. Touch of citrus popped up.

Draught (nitro) at Rose & Raindrop, Portland. Dark black, creamy head. Chocolate aroma. Sweet with thick, soft but syrupy mouthfeel. Lots of molasses, some tar and coffee. Salty, bitter finish. Too sweet and one-dimensional.

Huge chewy flavour. Major burnt and dark fruit character, with dark chocolate as well. Aromawise, very little of this actually gets through the nitro. The finish is almost syrupy.
