argo0 (6230), Washington DC, USA Jul 24, 2004 (RBSG04) Clear copper with beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, floral. Taste is mild sweet, pine/floral, lemon. Medium body, some resin. BückDich (4558), Boise, Idaho, USA Feb 4, 2004 Syrupy amber color with no head or lacing. The aroma is semisweet with little hops showing through, very noble though. The flavor is balanced toward an english style with lots of focus on the balance & malts. Finishes smooth too! good esb, true to the style. acrdz (4372), Boulder, Colorado, USA Dec 29, 2003 Deep murky red and brown. Crisp and bubbly initally without much flavor. Just some light wheat and some very subtle cherry-flavored hops. Not much else. harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Jan 10, 2006 Deep mohogany color, great lacing and legs with a big foamy rim. Nutty nose and full of caramel. Flavor is kind of harsh at first, but slowly melds away into a velverty malty finish. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA Aug 29, 2005 (Draft: Alameda Brewing Co. in Portland, OR) Very light bodied and somewhat bland interpretation of the ESB style, the maltiness is lightly sweet and non-descript, and the hops is lightly bitter and equally boring. Not really anything English speaking to me with this supposedly "robust" beer. Dark copper color, somewhat hazy, topped by an off-white head that leaves a patchwork of lace at the top of the glass as it fades to a small ring. Below average for the style.
