Nice and creamy head to boot. Full, medium body. Texture was thickish, with brawny carbonation. Some unique malt flavors: candy-coated nuts, carmelized wood, toast, and a hint of smoke. A little cloying, but not enough to bother me. Some fruit flavors popped in like welcomed guests, such as apricot, peach, and grape skins. Hops were earthy and herbal. Very mild bitterness. Slightest hint of sourness. The "Fat Tire" of Alaska, if you will. DuffMan (2769), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 18, 2006 Bought this at a hole-in-the-wall beerstore in Vegas, just off the strip. I was expecting a straightforward friendly-but-dull amber-- and I was pretty blown away! Hazy orange-brown amber with a spicy butterscotch-caramel aroma. Lightly fruity with rich buttery malt and spices, this was a very flavourful beer. A little on the sweet side, but very good. Ibrew2or3 (2766), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA

Poured amber/orange in color with a tiny white head that disappeared immediately. Slightly cloudy. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malts, skunk, and caramel. Medium body. Oily texture. Skunk, malt and caramel finish. Not really an Alt, and not a beer I would buy again. IrishBoy (2719), Bakersfield, California, USA
