Commercial Description:
Richly malty and long on the palate, with just enough hop backing to make this beautiful amber colored "alt" style beer notably well-balanced.

Toffee aroma. Toffee and toasted caramel malt in the flavor. Nice and mildly sweet. Light on the palate with very minimal hops that leave it somewhat crisp in the finish.

Copper color was nice; almost had an apple glow to it. Nice and creamy head to boot. Full, medium body. Texture was thickish, with brawny carbonation. Some unique malt flavors: candy-coated nuts, carmelized wood, toast, and a hint of smoke. A little cloying, but not enough to bother me. Some fruit flavors popped in like welcomed guests, such as apricot, peach, and grape skins. Hops were earthy and herbal. Very mild bitterness. Slightest hint of sourness. The "Fat Tire" of Alaska, if you will.

Bought this at a hole-in-the-wall beerstore in Vegas, just off the strip. I was expecting a straightforward friendly-but-dull amber-- and I was pretty blown away! Hazy orange-brown amber with a spicy butterscotch-caramel aroma. Lightly fruity with rich buttery malt and spices, this was a very flavourful beer. A little on the sweet side, but very good.

On Tap @ San Diego Brewing Company. Copper color with thin off white head. Slight aroma of caramel maltiness. Mild flavor with some caramel maltiness mixed with water. Disappointing beer.

Amber, as the name suggests. Big head that disipates quickly. Faint aroma of caramel. Caramel flavors, too. Peppery finish, with a faint note of smoke, as well.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of malts and some caramel. Poured amber/orange in color with a tiny white head that disappeared immediately. Slightly cloudy. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malts, skunk, and caramel. Medium body. Oily texture. Skunk, malt and caramel finish. Not really an Alt, and not a beer I would buy again.

Caramelly malt nose, with a tiny bit of banana esters in the background. Dark amber with a medium yellow head; Flavor is like a caramel banana, with some light chocolate in the background.
