The malts are almost too much. Easy drinking, yet couldn’t have too many and certainly couldn’t drink quickly. jgb9348 (2513), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jan 17, 2009 Nice amber coloured body with a thinnish off-white head. Aroma of malt, a bit of hops, some subtle spices and not much really anything else. Medium-bodied; Malty taste along with some subtle hops, but mostly a cardboardy taste that doesn’t sit well. Aftertaste is short and not so sweet...malt and some hop bitterness, but not much. Overall, definitely a beer worth passing up, but as it was the first time I’ve ever seen it, I wanted to try it at least. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased at BevMo in San Diego (Caramel Mountain), California on 05-November-2006. GregClow (2499), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 12, 2007 Draught at an overpriced seafood restaurant in Seattle. Nice reddish-amber with a good sized head. Aroma of toasty malt with a pleasant sweetness. Medium, refreshing body. Well-balanced flavour of malt, caramel, and clean, fresh hops. A solid session beer. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 6, 2006 12oz bottle via trade with cbkschubert! - Thanks Craig! - Pours amber with a pretty fair offwhite head that stays well but doesn’t lace much. Aroma is caramel malts, and some faint floral hop notes. Flavor is all malts though. Caramel, a touch of chocolate, lots of earthiness, and maybe even a touch of smoke. There is just a kiss of floral hops on the finish but not much. Medium body. Smooth in the mouth. Not bad. Volgon (2490), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 26, 2003 Pours a deep dark clear orange color. Sweet malty aroma, rich taste that ends slightly sweet. Much better than your average amber ale. FlacoAlto (2482), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 26, 2004 This is nice and malty up front, it has a bit of hop flavor in the middle that adds a nice component to this beer. The hop flavor could be a bin more hearty though. The hops really assert themselves in the finish; it is spicy yet mild, and has a hint of minty character to it. The malt flavors are sweet, with notes of caramel and an accompanying lightly toasted note. kramer (2482), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 25, 2005 12 oz bottle. Poured a dark copper, thin off-white head, torrents of rising carbonation. Strong malty nose with perfumy hops in the background. Sweet caramel malt flavor with a lightly bitter finish. Very well balanced. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Very drinkable nicely balanced Alt. Good intro beer to those new to the sport. KAggie97 (2476), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA

Pours average amber with a thin body and a quickly receding head. Candied apple, strawberry cake, and nuts in the nose. Earthy malt flavors with a slice of cinammon and sugar toast with a malted apple finish. Decent mouthfeel. Not too shabby; lite and refreshing. Great accompaniment to ’’’’Deadliest Catch.’’’’
