Discovered it on a Princess Cruise/Land Tour of Alaska in 2005. Loved it so much I lugged two cases back to Florida with me. Amber color with lots of caramel and malt, with some faint spice. Very smooth and easy to drink. Love it. Wish I could find it in Florida. drewbeerme (2309), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 11, 2004 a nice looking amber pour, it’s slightly sweet in nose and flavor. For a flagship, mass appeal beer, it’s pretty darn good. had it on draft at the brewery. alexanderj (2281), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 19, 2009 Bottle. Poured a clear amber color with a very small off white head. Aroma of caramel, toasted bread and nuts. Flavor had many of the same components, but with a touch of sweetness and a more prominent fruit presence. Dry in the finish, and not that great of an after taste. Flavor was pretty mild and just ok overall. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 1, 2007 7/01/2007: According to the label, Alaskan Amber is an "Alt Style Beer". The color of this beer is clear amber with a golden hue. The carbonation is lively, but there is only a thin, quickly dissipating head on the surface. Toasted grains, caramel malt, and some hints of darker roasted malts can be found in the aroma. It smells and tastes strong like an altbier, but not in an alcoholic kind of way; it is more of a deep maltiness. The flavor is roasty caramel malts with some darker malt flavor hiding in the background. The finish is short and dry, but has some butter toffee flavor to it. The overall flavor of this beer is somewhat sweet with just a little bit of bitterness to create a balanced flavor. This beer has a medium body and an average palate. Overall this is a pretty good beer. It is better than most Amber Ales, but somewhat lacking as an Altbier...
