The flavor is also mainly of caramel malt with a light hops and a light body. It’s actually pretty good for what it is. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA

Some malt in the aroma, some nutty toasty aromas, but overall the aroma is very restrained.
Slightly sweet, no real hops here.
Some salty metallic flavor in the finish.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 27, 2006 Bottled. Poura a clear coppery amber with a tan head. Sweet malt, honey and yeast in the aroma with a mild hint of floral hops. The flavor is sweetly nutty toffee. Quick finish of fruit and a touch of bitterness. Super-sessionable.

Slightly bitter but not as much so as most German alts. Sweet with earthy, fruity hints. Finished a little watery but quite nice overall. Snojerk321 (2020), San Diego, California, USA
