Appley taste with a hint of caramel and maybe some more black pepper. Simple and light but very good for what it is. LaChad (1375), San Francisco, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jan 1, 2002 I started drinking this on the tail end of a summer in Anchorage. Very complex taste of hops, malts that somehow mixes together in a good, hearty combination. I can’t really think of another beer to compare it to, it’s rather unique. Try some if you’re in the northwest USA. RSRIZZO (1368), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 16, 2007 Aroma is a nice caramel like malt scent. Color is a slightly hazy brown with good carbonation and a thin head. Taste is sweet and malty. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a smooth creamy feel. Finish comes on with a malty mouth feel that turns sweet and ends with a mild bitterness. Its a nice malty brew that comes off easy and well balanced. NoiZe (1361), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands

Amber colored. Sweet malty aroma. Malty, hoppy and sweetness. Kinda nice. nickd717 (1358), Palo Alto, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 6, 2009 Bottle from BevMo. Dark amber in color with a beige head. Malty aroma with caramel and some fruity notes. Flavor is sweet caramel malt and a little brown sugar and fruitiness with a tiny bit of hops. Smooth palate, medium body. Decent but unremarkable. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 7, 2005 No date on the bottle, at least as I can tell. Poured amber with a fizzy quickly fading head. Nose was sour-malt. Taste was the same. While not a "great" brew, very easy to drink. Seems to be right in the style range. Thanks for the trade. boto (1336), Granby, Connecticut, USA

A decent malty aroma with a bit of citrus. Flavor is malty without being sweet. A hint of roastiness. Slightly bitter finish. Another fine Northwestern brewery. I have enjoyed this an a few trips to the Seattle area. Even with all the choices out there, it is still a beer I come back to. fly (1332), austin, Tejas, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Feb 2, 2004 Ack! Count me out on this one. Maybe it's because I had managed to drink some very good beers and it just clashed with them, but seemed cloyingly sweet. I left the pint in a bar with friends and wandered to another and back and not only was the pint still there, but the people at the table had all taken sips and said not one of them cared for it. Bland plus sweet does not make a beer for me. Tried it again in airport and thought the same.
