Aroma was very light with some spice and molasses. Flavor was mostly sweet malts with some anise, molasses, and a tinge of orange flavor. Hops were minimal, more hoppiness would have been welcomed. Mouthfeel was a bit thin. Finish was sticky and filmy with more molasses flavor. Makes for a good clean-out-the-garage beer. BeerBelcher (943), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Appearance was a brilliant red-brown with great amounts of white head with good staying power. Aroma was malty, and a bit reminiscent to me of the way a bock smells. Flavor was also "bock malt" flavor with lots of unexpected chocolate taste. Mouthfeel was good but almost coarse and chalky, which seemed to help rub the chocolate taste into my taste buds. I found this beer to be highly drinkable.

Very well done, just not enough oomph with the malts but a fine brew none the less. topherh (936), Kearney, Missouri, USA

Aroma was all sweet malt. Flavor is more balanced than I expected from the aroma. Nice hop / malt balance . LooseCannon (936), Norfolk, Virginia, USA

Aroma is of caramely malt with just a slight hint of hops. Flavor is well balanced for the style and is of mildy roasted malt without the harsh bitterness of deeply roasted malt and, again, enough hops to balance the malt sweetness. A fairly good effort... reminds me of Otter Creek Copper Ale back home. beerledgend (919), Waterloo, Wellington, New Zealand

Smooth going down, but has a quite average/plain taste. Seems like they could have done a lot more with this one (especially since I’ve heard so many good things about the Alaskan brews).
