It had a caramel malty flavor and aroma, but there was too much bitter and an almost skunky flavor. RagallachMC (631), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2006 bottle via trade with Beerand Blues2. Aroma: Biscuity malt aroma with some caramel. Slight apple. Light spice and grass. Appearance: Reddish amber color and quite clear. Off white head was full and rocky with good retention. Some lacing. Flavor: Light caramel. Prominent biscuity flavor. Light sulfur notes. Some light yeast that leads into a subtle spiciness. Clean finish. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: A good, easy to drink brew with some nice flavors. Really enjoyed the biscuit in the aroma and flavor. talon1117 (628), Bellvue, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 11, 2009 I’ve had this a few times at the bars and thought it was an odd tasting amber ale, but to my surprise, it is an alt! Pours a sparkling clear, coppery-amber color with an average, cream-colored, frothy, pillowy head which sticks around with a small, frothy layer and leaves nice, tight lace. Nose is toasted cereal, sweet grains, faint brown sugar, faint doughy yeast, faint fruity notes; fairly light but pleasant. Flavor is buttery sweet biscuits, light toffee, almonds, sweet and toasted cereal, and a moderately light bitterness into the finish. Palate is nearly medium, nearly lively carbonation, and a soft, silky feel with a touch of dryness. Finishes fairly short, drying out some, with some nutty notes, and bitterness remaining. Not bad; a fairly nice alt. Not the most exciting of beer styles but very drinkable and pleasant. MrRoss (617), Delta, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 2, 2009 A pretty nice little beer, pouring (of course) a rich amber and with s smallish, off-white head that didn’t last very long. Aroma is rather subdued, but the taste is mildly malty with some hop as well. Smooth and refreshing, I’d like more of these. joebrew (608), Farewell Minny; Hello Puyallup, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 24, 2007 Thanks to Skyview for sharing. Pours a nice clear auburn like color. Nice sweet nose of toffee, pear, sweet biscuity malt, and a hint of granny smith apple. Nice balanced flavor that exudes a strong pear like fruity sweetness as well as a light dose of floral hops, banana, and biscuity malt. Nice light floral hoppiness on the finish with a light hint of the fruit. A very solid session beer. OD40oz (602), Box Elder, South Dakota, USA
