| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Apr 14, 2001 Unbelievably smooth, slick palate. It really just seems to glide down your throat. This is one of those beers that is much better on tap than in the bottle, so try it if you see it in a bar. An excellent brew to get for your friends who are leary about micros, as its so drinkable that won’t find it offense. For the rest of us, notice the great rounded-malt flavors. Puts Samuel Adams Boston Lager (also broadly in the alt style) to shame. Falconseye8 (525), Cartersville, Georgia, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 19, 2004 It’s every bit as good as I had hoped it would be. Hoppy, smooth warmer upper that is great. Again Buck Dich is my personal saviour!!! I’m very pleased with this trade. smoosh (523), New Albany, Indiana, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 9, 2007 Draft - big caramel nose. A beautiful beer - deep amber with an off-white head. Big malty flavor with enough hops to balance. Very well done! pintocb (520), Darsville, Georgia, USA

| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | May 19, 2005 Draught. Smokey deep, deep amber; could be called red. Nose is sugary malt and syrup. Sickly sweet with traces of biscuit and acetone. Medium bodied, thinner than I expected. Finishes sweet, watery, flabby. Hopless. Overall impression is of cola backwash. Lacks flavor, structure, and balance. They should make people drink this dreck on “fear factor”. Wulfstan (509), California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 16, 2008 This is a tasty, enjoyable, but mild and simple beer. It is reddish copper with a small-medium offiwhite head quickly dissipating to a wispy top with the barest hint of lace. The aroma is pleasant, bread, a little crust, caramel, yeast, hay, and a hint of fruit. The taste is lightly earthy, fruity bread crust, caramel, leafy spiciness. It’s lightly sweet with a zesty dryness in the finish but no real bitterness at all. It’s easy to drink but the character is fairly one-dimensional and there is little aftertaste.
