Commercial Description:
Richly malty and long on the palate, with just enough hop backing to make this beautiful amber colored "alt" style beer notably well-balanced.

I am a fan of Amber beers and this one is a good one. Very similar to the Abita Amber i think. Had quite a few of these on my cruise ship.

This is a good beer! It’s not a coveted microbrew but it certainly holds its own. It has just the right amount of sweetness with a slightly bitter finish. I’ve just had one bottle but I feel like I could drink the other five without any regret. Good tasting, refreshing, and surprisingly easy on the palate.

A few weeks ago my sister gave me this odd glass that was given to her by a friend who moved. It didn’t match anything of their glassware so her husband didn’t want it. I almost forgot I put it on the bottom shelf of the beer glass hutch until my dad brought this beer back from Alaska for me. I was reading the suggested glassware for this beer is a Stange (Slender Cylinder) and had now idea what that was; wouldn’t you know the glass my sister had no use for is exactly what I wanted. It was providential that I should enjoy this beer in this glass at this time; and a pleasure indeed! Appearance: Pours a beautiful ruby brown color with an off-white head that fades fast. Smell: Malty! Very malty and bready too; with a nice touch of floral hop in the nose as well. Taste: Starts off malty and sweet with hints of caramel and fruit parallel to the bready grain amber malt flavor. There is also a grassy hop presence that makes itself know but does not over dominate this brew. The finish is dry with a nice lingering aftertaste of gentle but firm hops and doughy dryness. Mouthfeel: Oily slick through the center with a solid malt backbone and yet smooth and slight creamy around the edges with a nice dryness that prickle the palate. Drinkability: This is a perfect anytime any occasion easy drinking beer. It is enjoyable for savoring and perfect as a session beer. The small ABV I didn’t even feel after just one but the tasty flavor stayed with me after it was finished. Simply put it would always be good choice! Well done Alaskan Brewing Co. Hope this is helpful. Cheers!

Bottle. Pours dark amber with nice off-white head w/ good retention. Aroma is toasty and biscuity with a note of bittering hops. Flavor lives up to the aroma, bisquity and not overly sweet, enough hops to clean the palate. One of my favorite session beers.

Picked up single 12-oz bottle at John’s Marketplace in Portland, OR. Pours a clear coppery amber brew with a fast dissolving white head that leaves behind some spotty lacing and white ring. Aroma is very malty, sweet caramel malt, some fruity pears, and multi-grain biscuits. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with a biscuity malt and flowery hop flavor. Finish has a good balance of malt and hop bitterness.

Dark brown, head vanished before I carried it back to my table. Great malty flavor, not too hoppy. Very enjoyable beer
