Sweet toffee malt kept lively by the somewhat prickly carbonation. I thought it was going to veer into overly sweet territory, but a nice dry hoppyness kept it in check and provided only enought balance - I wouldn't want this any hoppier for the style. I was expecting a straightforward friendly-but-dull amber-- and I was pretty blown away! Hazy orange-brown amber with a spicy butterscotch-caramel aroma. Lightly fruity with rich buttery malt and spices, this was a very flavourful beer. A little on the sweet side, but very good. beervana (781), Libertyville, Illinois, USA
