I had a pint for breakfast while waiting for an early flight in Portland OR. Was nice. Pleasant sweetness on the tongue. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 16, 2008 This is a tasty, enjoyable, but mild and simple beer. It is reddish copper with a small-medium offiwhite head quickly dissipating to a wispy top with the barest hint of lace. The aroma is pleasant, bread, a little crust, caramel, yeast, hay, and a hint of fruit. The taste is lightly earthy, fruity bread crust, caramel, leafy spiciness. It’s lightly sweet with a zesty dryness in the finish but no real bitterness at all. It’s easy to drink but the character is fairly one-dimensional and there is little aftertaste. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 7, 2008 Aroma: Banana, faint caramel malts, resiny hops. Not very complex, but interesting.
Appearance: Lovely red-rose amber. A crisp, bright, clear color. Very poor retention of a short-lived, recycled paper-colored head.
Flavor: Banana flavor comes through, plus a tangy yeast finish that reminds me of a dubbel. Mild, leafy hops and pome-like, fruity hops.
Palate: Nicely tinglesome, pleasantly carbonated and not cloying at all.
Overall: A versatile session beer that would match well with many foods. Ham and pumpkin pie come to mind. scooterbub (387), Lander, Wyoming, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 28, 2008 Bottle. Pours a red-brown color with a large tan head that slowly fades. Aroma is malty, with hints of caramel, hops and is slightly sweet. The taste is much the same and has a dry finish. Overall, this is a pretty enjoyable brew at a fair price that is worth revisiting. Also, as with most of their beers, the label is pretty neat looking. Mouthfeel is smooth and rich, yet drinkable. overall a very delicious beer. This is what Fat Tire wishes it could be...
