Apr 27, 2009 Hazy dark amber color with a beige head. Aroma and flavor are pretty sweet with caramel and some fruit. Thanks to Dogbrick for the trade.

Aug 17, 2004 Clear copper color with a moderate tan head. Sweet malt dominates the aroma. Hints of light fruit and mild hops. Light sweet pale malt dominate the tip of the palate. Light floral hops bitterness sweeps in quickly behind. Toffee take back the court in in the finish and shares it with some berries. A touch sweet for my kind of alt, but a very good brew non the less. Thanks to Faclonseye8 for setting me up with this one.

Sep 20, 2004 Another gift from the mother-in-law after an Alaskan cruise. The beer is a dark brownish but clear color with a medium and creamy beige head. Thin lacing. The aroma is nicely malted and toasty. Medium-bodied and smooth, with malt, caramel and nut flavors in varying degrees. Light hop finish. Overall not the best Alt available but I was impressed enough that I would get it again.

Jul 11, 2004 a nice looking amber pour, it’s slightly sweet in nose and flavor. For a flagship, mass appeal beer, it’s pretty darn good. had it on draft at the brewery.

Dec 17, 2002 This is definitely the best "Alt" I have had yet. Aroma is a bit nutty, deep amber color. Nice sweetness, bitter finish. Try this beer!

Feb 6, 2006 Bottle. Clear dark amber body, not much head. You know those worthless orange/black taffy-peanut butter candies they give out on halloween? This smells like those alongside crystal malt. Great malt flavor - clean clear sweet caramel and toasted malt finishing with a hint of minerals and grassy hops. Medium body with a ticklish carbonation.

Jun 1, 2004 Thanks to sdbruboy for this unexpected bonus!! A perfect session beer, minus the fact that it is brewed clear up in Alaska and we Midwesterners have no local distributors of it! Caramel and hoppy aroma, matched the taste. Balanced and refreshing. I’m still pissed at my friends for "accidentally" drinking my Alaskan Xmas beer last year!
