Rerate 2/24/08: Draft: Pours golden with a large white head. Nose is malty and earthy, light florals and bits of toffee. Flavor is earthy and malty. Roasty tones and nuttiness. Still one of my go-to brews when the pickins are slim. talon1117 (630), Bellvue, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 11, 2009 I’ve had this a few times at the bars and thought it was an odd tasting amber ale, but to my surprise, it is an alt! Pours a sparkling clear, coppery-amber color with an average, cream-colored, frothy, pillowy head which sticks around with a small, frothy layer and leaves nice, tight lace. Nose is toasted cereal, sweet grains, faint brown sugar, faint doughy yeast, faint fruity notes; fairly light but pleasant. Flavor is buttery sweet biscuits, light toffee, almonds, sweet and toasted cereal, and a moderately light bitterness into the finish. Palate is nearly medium, nearly lively carbonation, and a soft, silky feel with a touch of dryness. Finishes fairly short, drying out some, with some nutty notes, and bitterness remaining. Not bad; a fairly nice alt. Not the most exciting of beer styles but very drinkable and pleasant. jeremytoni (1122), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 20, 2007 This alt beer sets up with a deep amber color woth a medium head. It shows nice notes of sweet malt on the nose and then within the palate the malt brings some denseness along with the floral notes of the hops. It finishes with quite a blanced impression. bitbucket (2036), Kirkland, Washington, USA

Sweet malt, honey and yeast in the aroma with a mild hint of floral hops. The flavor is sweetly nutty toffee. Quick finish of fruit and a touch of bitterness. Super-sessionable.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 16, 2007 Aroma is a nice caramel like malt scent. Color is a slightly hazy brown with good carbonation and a thin head. Taste is sweet and malty. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a smooth creamy feel. Finish comes on with a malty mouth feel that turns sweet and ends with a mild bitterness. Its a nice malty brew that comes off easy and well balanced. 505 (271), Echo Park, California, USA
