Commercial Description:
Richly malty and long on the palate, with just enough hop backing to make this beautiful amber colored "alt" style beer notably well-balanced.

Toasty malt with slight caramel aroma. Pleasing autumn leaf color tending to fresh brewed ice tea. Flavor is balanced, smooth with a hint of maybe . . . butterscotch. The palate is both fizzy and a bit thick. This is an "old" standby for folks around here and deservedly so.

Pours a copper/amber color with a fluffy white head. Aroma is slightly bitter/hoppy but also earthy. Flavor is well-rounded... a combination of caramel hops and earthy, lemony bittering hops. On tap @ Monte Carlo, Las Vegas.

Bottle at Johnny Mac’s Good Times Tavern, Rock Springs, WY. Nice concentrated (not overwhelming) nose: cherry skin, sweet malt, mild wheat. Flavors of the same, with a rather thick texture. Quite clean for a ’common’ beer.

Pours clear & copper, with very uneven and bubbling head, foaming away in the glass, slowly disappearing as I drink. Aroma of fruit compote, & toffee, not unlike many good English ales. First flavor notes are malts & caramel, leading to a moderate, slightly roasts (yum!) Some sips include a slightly papery flavor. Bitterness of medium length. Hops are on the subdued side. Very similar in flavor to Rogue Dead Guy Ale. Good drinking, but no epiphanies.

22oz bottle. Pours clearish amber with a very thin, fizzy white head. Smells crisp malty, caramelly sweet. Tastes crisp, sweet malty with some caramel and slight earth notes. Medium body, crisp carbonation.

Good beer. I had this while I was out west(Oregon or Wash) and liked it. Well balanced and tasty.

This altbier pours into the glass with a deep amber body with no head or lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet, malty and fruity with a slight hoppy note. The flavor is slightly sweet, fruity and malty with a nice hoppy balance. The finish is slightly bitter and hoppy. This brew is medium bodied, smooth and slightly dry.

A souvenir brought back by a friend from his Alaska vacation. Poured a pure amber color, had a rapidly diminishing white head. Citrus and a slight alcohol aroma. Slightly hoppy, sour flavor with plenty of malt to balance it off. I definitely enjoyed this, though I found the Summer Ale to be a bit more tasty. The Alaskan Brewing Company hasn't let me down yet!
