The aroma is sweet caramel malts, toffee and some fruit.
The flavor is slightly sweet caramel, toffee and biscuits with a little fruitiness and enough bitterness at the finish to balance it well. The mouthfeel is medium bodied.
Overall, nothing too exciting but this is a well made, well balanced and enjoyable brew. This reminded me a bit of Fat Tire, but better. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 7, 2005 No date on the bottle, at least as I can tell. Poured amber with a fizzy quickly fading head. Nose was sour-malt. Taste was the same. While not a "great" brew, very easy to drink. Seems to be right in the style range. Thanks for the trade. hanker (12), USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 6, 2007 As the name indicates, a true amber. Small white head. Nutty robust malted nose. Slightly bitter but not as much so as most German alts. Sweet with earthy, fruity hints. Finished a little watery but quite nice overall. jujubeast6000 (787), Houston, Texas, USA

An aroma of hops, malts, sweet, flowers. Good smooth nutty taste, clean finish. awaisanen (1279), Irvine, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 23, 2006 From draught. Pours a cherry amber translucent color with a medium layer of creamy off-white head. Aroma of fried plantains, a splash of hazelnut liquore, and a touch of anise as well. A bit of fruity bubblegum notes as well. Light bodied mouthfeel with an exceptionally creamy texture. Flavors are nice and relatively sweet with some nice almond nutty tones and light raspberry fruits composingt the malt-biased palate profile. Final smack of lightly toasted banana bread. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 7, 2006 Updated: Sep 14, 2007Draught. Pours, well, amber, with a pretty good offwhite head. Aroma is mainly caramel malt and some nuttiness, moderately sweet, with noticeable roast and with a hint of floral hops. Flavor is similar; mainly nutty caramel with a fwe hops, and quite smooth. A good session beer. mvcramer (229), Arlington, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 15, 2008 Looked better than it tasted. Beautiful pour. Sweet malty notes and taste, but lacking that little bit of hop balance that this style requires. There are better ambers out there - this one is not the best, but certainly not a bad beer by any means.
