I really liked this beer, it has a unique sort of creamy-sweet taste like flowers and fruit. The taste seems to be one thing at first, and then there is a very odd but wonderufl aftertaste that lasts. Not very bitter if you’re into that, and not very thick, but definitely one of the better widely available american beers I’ve had. rainbeer (2), USA does not count | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 11, 2005 Very nice pour, reddish brown and clear. Tried several batches and head varies. Taste covers the entire tongue with carmely nuttiness that is sweet and smooth. Finishes clean with a hint of hoppiness for the sinuses. I would drink this every day as it is likeable for most guests and tastes. beachbum25 (786), Powellville, Maryland, USA

Pours a beautiful mahogany/copper color w/a small off white head. Malty, grassy, slightly roasted aroma. Sweet, roasted, floral, malty taste. Just enough hops to balance out the finish. Long grainy hoppy finish. Very smooth, very drinkable, very enjoyable. Would definately be a good sesson beer. I’ve always wanted to try this beer and have finally gotten the chance. Thanks for the trade!! First drank it in Anchorage at Gwennie’s, have developed a fondness for this beer, going out of my way to bring it back to Texas where it’s not currently distributed. Pours to a rich amber color, tastes like it was directly from Dusseldorf. Easily my favorite. adamjf (9), USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 23, 2007 This is like the Summer Ale but with some more maltiness and more frothy. Thought the flavor was very good - a good mix between a lighter ale and a darker beer like a porter. highlandlad (1258), Sydney, Australia

However, the beer is a treat. It poured with a thin head but the aroma was light and invitingly fruity. The palate is sweet and oily, with fruity notes and a hint of spice in a smooth finish. Very easy to drink. Even better on tap, I imagine. A gem. beerbill (1954), Laurel, New York, USA

Very nice caramel and malt aroma. Flavor followed the aroma. Great finish, very smooth. Wish this was available on the East Coast. LJBrewing (22), Anchorage, Alaska, USA

For my taste a little more bitterness would be nice to offset the residual sweetness of the malt. A decent "Amber" beer. I wouldn’t say no to a free round or three.
