| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 13, 2006 Aroma: moderate hop aroma from dry hopping or late kettle additions of American hop varieties. A citrusy hop character moderately high maltiness balances and masks the hop presentation, and shows a moderate caramel character. Esters moderate
Appearance: coppery brown in color. Moderately large off-white head with good retention. Flavor: Moderate to high hop flavor from American hop varieties, which often but not always has a citrusy quality. Malt flavors are moderate to strong, and usually show an initial malty sweetness followed by a moderate caramel flavor (and sometimes other character malts in lesser amounts). Malt and hop bitterness are usually balanced and mutually supportive. Fruity esters can be moderate to none. Caramel sweetness and hop flavor/bitterness can linger somewhat into the medium to full finish. No diacetyl.
Mouthfeel: Medium to medium-full body. Carbonation moderate to high. Overall smooth finish without astringency often associated with high hopping rates. Stronger versions may have a slight alcohol warmth.
Overall Impression: Like an American pale ale with more body, more caramel richness, and a balance more towards malt than hops (although hop rates can be significant).

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 30, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a gorgeous, deep amber-orange color; creamy light-tan head with good retention and fine-bubbled lacing; really nice pour on this. The aroma shows a fair amount of candy sugar maltiness and candied red fruits; not sticky or heavy, but certainly malt forward; there’s a touch of cherry cough drops here as well. Medium mouthfeel: following the aroma, there’s a lot of cherry juice and red fruits upfront; a light perimeter of mineral hops that merely serve to hold things up; lots of fruitiness, light candy sugar, and just a very basic presentation overall: a rather bland, candy-focused alt rendition. Lasting finish of candy sugar, red fruits, and some emergent toastiness, thankfully. arminjewell (183), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 1, 2009 Pours an amber color with a small quickly receding white head. The aroma is malt. Flavor is sweet, malty, with faint bitter hoppy aftertaste. Good mouthfeel, smooth and well balanced. Good brew. Gregis (1135), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 24, 2009 Pours a hazy dark tea with a small beige head that diminishes to a thin cap. The nose is of sweet, burnt sugar and dark bready malt notes. There is a slightly odd plastic/artificial note in there as well, but fortunately it fades with time as the beer warms. Light-bodied and assertively carbonated with a drying, mildly astringent finish. The flavor follows the nose after the aforementioned "off" note has faded. This is a solid session beer but not much more. cgarvieuk (4218), Edinburgh, Scotland

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 19, 2009 Bottle. Poured a clear amber color with a very small off white head. Aroma of caramel, toasted bread and nuts. Flavor had many of the same components, but with a touch of sweetness and a more prominent fruit presence. Dry in the finish, and not that great of an after taste. Flavor was pretty mild and just ok overall. potbeercollege (430), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Poured a clear amber color with a medium sized beige head. Some roasted malt and caramel notes in the aroma. Flavor is decent with a mixture of mostly malt and a bit of hops. Quite easy to drink, especially on a 6 hour flight from FL to Seattle, WA.
