Aroma was chocolate, roasted malt, cherries, earthy hops and molasses. Very little booze in the aroma. Flavor was roast, chocolate, cherries, a very prominent lactic note and some licorice. Extremely tasty brew, I was very pleasantly surprised with this one. Went down smooth as silk. TampaBrew (889), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 23, 2009 A strong brew that only the mother of a yeti could love. Cherry is defined and prominent with some cocoa essence. Good roast and bittering is mild. A good brew yet had a nuance to it that throws it off a bit. ManvsCity (107), Redmond, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 22, 2009 22 oz bottle pours a dense and dark brown with only the barest ring of tan foam. Licorice, wet oak, and nutmeg in the aroma. Sweet and malty/woody taste, some alcohol heat, wet leather, dates & prunes, pepper, and maybe some ginger spiciness. A little low on carbonation, not at all dry, but has quite a kick. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA

9/09/2009: Alaskan Baltic Porter... Aroma: Slightly meaty-like smokiness, minerals, licorice, cardboard, not much else. Appearance: Deep brown with chocolate/ruby highlights; small ivory head. Flavor: Hmm... This beer has a soft vanilla, creme brulee, hints of milk chocolate. Palate: Medium-bodied, soft, mellow, and mostly smooth. Overall: Not what I was expecting; flavor is definitely better than the aroma.
1 pint 6 fl. oz. bottle ( 9.8% Alcohol by Volume) from bitbucket via trade. Thanks Bob! Rating #90 for this beer.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 22, 2009 Served on tap at Stone World Bistro. Pours a clear ruby brown with no real head. Flavors and aromas are sweet and dry malts with the deep dark roasted malt that baltic porters have. Mouth is creamy and dry. Every time I have a Baltic porter I always wish there were more out there, an excellent example of a great style. awiseman01 (379), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
