May 23, 2009 Bottle: Poured a light black color porter with a quite large light brown foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of lightly sweet black chocolate is dominant and very enticing. Taste is also dominated by well balanced sweetness with some quality black chocolate notes. It seems almost impossible for some chocolate malt to taste so good and it makes me wonder if some syrup were used. In any cases, this is an incredible treat and something I wish I would have access to. Body is full with some good carbonation and no signs of alcohol.

May 8, 2009 Dark cola looking brew with nice ruby highlights. Thin tan head sits for a while.
Smells of burnt sugars, banana, and chocolate.
Some feint flavors of dark stone fruits and fig. A little smokiness, a little oak, and some good chocolaty notes.Finishes with a little bit of vanilla bean and booziness.

May 4, 2009 22oz bottle from Liquid Solutions. Pours a very deep brown with a 1 finger thick beige head. Big toffee nose with hints of some chocolate and dark fruits. Flavor was mostly toffee and had a very creamy mouth coating finish, great stuff!

Apr 16, 2009 (22oz bottle, 2008 vintage) Pours a dark brown (deep amber edges) with a medium beige head. Aroma of toasted rye, chocolate, banana, raisins, vanilla, and clove. Flavor of raisins, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, and toffee.

Apr 16, 2009 22oz from RoryGilmore on BA - thanks, Rick! This is definitely a different kind of Baltic porter. Pour is nice and viscous, with admirable carbonation and pretty decent lacing to boot. Vanilla and lactic notes in the aroma, with some overripe dark cherry too. The mouthfeel is really nice, though not quite as silky as some other beers in the style. What’s curious, and distinctive, about this one is the way it has strong chocolate notes and even some roasted malts in the flavor along with the sweet milky qualities. Even some choc bitterness in the finish to complement the fruit. Pretty good.

Apr 12, 2009 Bottle. Dark pour with a small dark tan head. Aroma was lightly roasted with a medium cherry and bourbon character. Flavors were awesome with a bit more dark cherry, chocolate, light oak, more bourbon, and a nice sweet malt bill. Real well blended brew with a great smooth mouth feel. Alcohol was well hidden.

Apr 7, 2009 Bottle... C&P’sLYFO Throwdown... Clear, very dark porter with a small, creamy, khaki head and ruby highlights. Simple, nutty, chocolaty aroma. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Sweet, chocolaty, nutty flavor and finish. Muchos kudos to whoever brought this beer to the Throwdown... Beerlando, perhaps?
