Bottle. [thank you after4ever]
Pours deep brown with a fine, small-ish, frothy, beige head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, milky chocolate, lightly roasted and a hint of vanilla-like coffee. Low carbonation, lovely fat and oily mouthfeel. Flavour is dark chocolate, a touch milky, roasted malts, dark dried fruits and a touch of smoke. Long, lingering, vinious and dark chocolate aftertaste. Really very lovely.

22oz bottle. 2008 Vintage. Poured a dark brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of vanilla, dark cherries, licorice, bananas, chocolate, and woody. Tastes of dark cherries, vanilla, chocolate, oak, dark fruits, and marsh mellows. Vanilla creme. The addition of dark cherries and vanilla beans were done nicely. The oak was there but not overpowering. Alcohol content well hidden. Nice.

Bottle... C&P’sLYFO Throwdown... Clear, very dark porter with a small, creamy, khaki head and ruby highlights. Simple, nutty, chocolaty aroma. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Sweet, chocolaty, nutty flavor and finish. Muchos kudos to whoever brought this beer to the Throwdown... Beerlando, perhaps? Pours a transparent dark mahogany with a thin, spotty-lacing light tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel and fresh oak with a touch of grape candy. Body starts with a nice fullness and good fresh oaky complexity with a hint of light fruity tartness. Finishes smooth and slightly warming with some lingering dark chocolate. A nice strong porter.

Pours brown with a tan head. Smells of bananas, raisins, cloves, dark fruit, rich malt, boozy. Tastes of chocolate, bubblegum, figs. Boozy and bitter. Disappointing.

nose is incredibly messy and covered in butane, ethanol and plain old vehicle gasoline. i guess there are some syrupy chocolate malts in there that develop with some aeration and oxidation in the glass, but i can’t get past how messy, sharp and boozy this beer smells. fizzy carbonation with a syrupy and thick body... this stuff tastes like Robitussin. no shit. sugared plum juice and nyquil/licorice in the finish. carbonation dissolves across the back of the palate, leaving the body peaked and weak. awful.
