From a 22 oz bottle this poured a rich and very clear garnet color with a fat white head and good heavy lacing. Nose of alcohol, with ripe fruit. Rich creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is of caramel malts and some citrus hops, but generally this is sweet. SA little bitterness in the finish. I have a feeling this will get better with age but it is good now as well.

Bomber from Douglas88. Pours a reddish black with a thin white head. Big malt, maple syrup, toffee, brown sugar, citrus and slightly boozy aroma. Spicy bitter hop taste with dark malt and toffee in the flavor. Very well done Barley Wine that is balanced well and finishes with just a little bitterness.

22 oz bomber-Trade w/after4ever-classic Barley Wine pour & aroma, clear light brown/deep amber color w/almost no head. Strong alcohol flavor which really comes alive as it warms, caramel, toffee, some plum & banana, some subtle sweetness w/woodsy overtones, but not overly sweet...reminded me of drinking a fine Single Malt Scotch. Really warmed you up & had quite a kick, but the Alcohol was well hidden. Had enough strength to go well with a fine cigar as a nightcap...this was really good. I think it will only get better w/age & thankfully I have a few more from this trade to test that theory! Thanks Tom!!

Pours attractive deep ruddy brown with a thin cream colored head. Caramel, toffee and a tangerine like sweet citrus nose and flavor. Medium full mouthfeel.

Bottle 07. Had a fresh hoppy aroma with a sweet but light malt character. Medium to full body with a nice blend of malt, medium caramel, plum, prune, and chocolate. Well blended brew. More age could have done nicely but this was still a great brew as it was.

Deep amber hue with thin ring of off-white head. Nose is light fruits, rich malts, alcohol, light grass tones. Flavor is rich bready malts, apples and light fruits, moderate hop bitterness and light grassy hop flavors, finishes sweet. Full-bodied, thick texture, ample carbonation, modest alcohol warmth. A balanced and flavorful English b-wine, malty and fruity with subtle hope.

1/28/09 On draft at the Dog & Pony, Renton, Wa. Aroma is a fresh PNW hop blend forward with lots of caramel. Appearance is clear ruby with a very well maintained off-white head. Flavor is rich, roasty, sour-hopped malt forward with substantial fruitiness and light sourness. Mouthfeel is full bodied, somewhat syrupy, with no carb texture. Overall, rich and fruity, not bad, but needs to sit.

Tasted on tap at the Celebrator Best of the West Beerfest on 2/15/2009. This barley wine pours a deep amber color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, fruity and sweet with a touch of hops. A medium to full bodied barleywine. The malts are fruity, caramel and sweet. The hops are citrusy and piney. A big boozy barleywine, a little hot but nice caramel and fruity flavors. Balance is way toward the malts, but there are enough hops to keep it balanced. Good carbonation. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with a touch of alcohol bite.
