Bottle sampled at RBSG ’08. 2007. Pours with a depp mohagony body topped by a thick, tan head with a good amount of lacing. It’s malty and sweet with a nice caramel note and a light piney hop character. Full bodied, smooth and a touch dry.

Red with a small head. Aroma of caramel, dark fruit and hops. Flavor is again of caramel with hops - sweet beer, but well balanced.

Hazy brown with medium beige head. Sweet fruity aroma with caramel, roasted malt and hoppy notes. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, hops, ripe fruits and hoppy notes leading it to a bitter finish.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of MaltOMeal. Pours a clear reddish colour with a beige head. Aroma of wood, dried fruit and alcohol. Quite full-bodied with sweetish burned caramel, dried fruit and a hoppy finish with some sweetness prevailing. 260708

#28 Bottle [Sk8viking great American blind tasting] Small creamy beige head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Somewhat cloudy dark amber color. Aroma of apricot, pine, grapefruit, light toffee. Over the palate came strong notes of pine, grapefruit and toasted malt and caramel. Medium to full bodied with an average carbonation and dry alcoholic texture. Moderated to heavy bitter and sweet flavor well balanced. Lingering warming alcoholic and bitter finish. 8 / 3 / 8 / 4 / 16 = 3.9

Pours dark with nice bubbly head. Great for a young barleywine, with citrus and lots of barley in the aroma, and in the taste. Above-average mouthfeel. Good satisfying aftertaste.

Thanks to Pantanap for giving me the chance to try this. Poured reddish brown. Aroma is caramel, and pine hops. Taste is nice and rounded, dark fruit, raisins, caramel, malt sweetness with a great piney balancing bitterness. Big thick mouthfeel, sticky with a lasting finish.
