| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 26, 2009 Nearly opague maroon-amber with with lush, creamy, beige head. Aroma is imbued with candied fruit, prominently apricot and peach brandy. Strong candied fruitiness in body. Luscious peach and apricot with a masterful brandy component. Candi malt, some caramel and rich, full body. Sharp alcohol accentuates the fruit flavors. Mild hopping adds some flavor, but do not distract. An exceptional winter warmer to have in the cellar for those brisker months. Outstanding. jgb9348 (2515), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA

Deep amber coloured body with brown highlights and a lightish tan head - very small though. Very bright aroma of vanilla, malt, oak, alcohol and a nice pit fruit scent. Full-bodied; Strong assertive taste of malt, yeast, raisins, pit fruits and a lot of alcohol - very nice. Potent aftertaste of nuts, raisins, caramel, brown sugar and a good bit of oak. Overall, a nice barley wine - not as complex as I’ve seend, but definitely a good one to try! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Bottleworks in Seattle, Washington on 25-April-2009, sampled at home in the ’real’ Washington (DC) on 23-May-2009. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 25, 2009 Pours dark bronze with a crimson hue and a caramel colored head that leaves quickly. The aroma is very oxidized, creamy, heavily toasted malt, toffee sweetness and a bit of milk. The flavor starts with slmost candy sugar sweetness, caramel, some anise, light bitterness from hops, alcohol burn and cardboard. The finish has more alcohol and some harshness, mush and cream. Okay beer. jkwalking05 (1501), Arlington, Texas, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 10, 2009 Bottle from total beverage in Westminster. 2008 bottle. Deep ruby red, small white head. Nice aroma - alcohol, sweet malt, some hops, dark fruit. Taste - really nice. Lots of alcohol, but mixes well with sweet malt and hops - what an easy drinking barleywine. Reminiscent of bigfoot. Subtle caramel and dark fruit in finish. Just fantastic - not in your face but one of the best barleywines I have had and certainly one of the easiest to drink. mrhoppy (224), Santa Clara, California, USA

I will buy more and cellar it. Imagine what it will taste like in 10 years! If I can wait that long. After sipping on this awhile I was trying to decide if this beer deserves a 5 star rating. Everything about it makes you want more! I say yes.
