hophead21112 (109), Louisville (LEWISville), Colorado, USA Feb 17, 2009 Bomber from Union Jack. Honey straw-colored pour with one-finger white head. Minimal retention and average lacing. Aroma is grainy sulfur, some hops. Not enough to call it an IPA. Mouth is more of the same. Above average carbonation, adjunct corny/lager-like taste on the tongue, metallic sulfur. Might call it a pale ale. Will not go for this one again. Expected more from this brewery. Pours a clear golden yellow with a big rocky white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is mild spicy and grassy hops with some sweet slightly vegetal malts.
The flavor is some sweet malts with a earthy, grassy hop finish that has some decent bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with some sharp carbonation.
Overall, a pretty average IPA. I didn’t really care for the flavor profile. I prefer brighter fruitier hops.
BeerNeedy (60), Anchorage, Alaska, USA Feb 10, 2009 12 oz bottle the aroma was better than average with a definite hop note. The pour was clear with a burnished copper hue. The flavor was hardy but the finish was sharp on the tongue. Drinkable overall. Tmoney99 (4652), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Feb 6, 2009 Draft at Yard House, Las Vegas.
Poured a clear amber color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate sour hoppy aroma. Medium body. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
This is a good drinkable brew. waolsen (1220), Littleton, Colorado, USA Feb 6, 2009 bottl golden/copper pour with white head. lacing. mild aroma. peppery up front. nice balance, sweet malts. pretty standard all around. Soonah (900), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Feb 4, 2009 On tap. The pour was very light copper in color with a super short white head that created average lacing. The aroma was nice with some soft citrus, floral and a bit of pine hops. The flavor was a combination of the aforementioned hops and some spice and malt. A thin bodied, easy drinking IPA. Dmalone102 (216), Denver, Colorado, USA Feb 3, 2009 There is a decent malt background that is topped off by a hop presence that is citrusy, but almost delicate. It is a bit different from most west-coast IPA’s, definately worth trying.
