Commercial Description:
Alaskan IPA is honey gold in color with a fruity, citrus aroma. An enticing blend of hops and our dry hopping process, in which hops are added directly to tanks during fermentation, give this brew a very intense, complex aromatic character with a refreshing hop finish.

Bottle. Pours with a small, foamy white head over a chill hazed, yellow to gold body. Light lace. Aroma is grassy and grainy with a few citrus hops (very mellow). A bit of bread and a touch of wheat. Taste is grainy with some pine hops, a bit of soggy malt, and a touch of caramel. A touch of spicy hops. Lively carbonation and watery. Alcohol is a bit noticeable.

Aroma of hops, but not too strong. Slightly citric and floral but also bit of an earthy scent as well. Golden in color with a small off white head. Taste is of malt and dry hop flavors. This is a pretty good beer but is not nearly as hoppy as most american IPA’s, could almost be classified as a strong pale ale.

Bomber from BevMo in Scottsdale. Clear light amber pour and small white head with a little lacing. Fresh pine and spruce aroma. Mild citrus and biscuity flavor with notes that reminded me of their Winter Ale. Mouthfeel a bit on the thin side. Dry snappy finish. Not your everyday IPA and worth a try if you can get your glass on one.

12 oz bottle. Poured a clear gold color with a two finger white head that lingered. The aroma was earthy, with some citrus notes. The flavor was malty, with only a slight grassy hop finish. The bitterness lingered for quite a while. This was not my favorite IPA, and I probably wouldn’t have it again.

Bomber from Union Jack. Honey straw-colored pour with one-finger white head. Minimal retention and average lacing. Aroma is grainy sulfur, some hops. Not enough to call it an IPA. Mouth is more of the same. Above average carbonation, adjunct corny/lager-like taste on the tongue, metallic sulfur. Might call it a pale ale. Will not go for this one again. Expected more from this brewery. Unremarkable.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear golden yellow with a big rocky white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is mild spicy and grassy hops with some sweet slightly vegetal malts.

The flavor is some sweet malts with a earthy, grassy hop finish that has some decent bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with some sharp carbonation.

Overall, a pretty average IPA. I didn’t really care for the flavor profile. I prefer brighter fruitier hops.
