Aroma is average malt (grain, meal), heavy hops (flowers, perfume, pine, citrus), average yeast (sweat) with notes of pear, apple, and peach. Medium bodied, thin texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness. ditmier (1022), Boise, Idaho, USA Apr 16, 2008 2008 Bottle - Mild aroma, average citrus hop flavour, not all that good, but not terrible. For the price, there are many better IPA’s... bsierra (213), Vista, California, USA Apr 6, 2008 On tap at Nick’s in Oceanbeach. Pours a nice golden hue with a very citrus hoppy nose. A pretty typical IPA, with lots of hops present paired nicely with melon and grapefruit backfill. The finish was dry and not overly bitter. All and all a very decent IPA~ vulcanmeister (102), La Grande, Oregon, USA Apr 6, 2008 aroma:carmel and resin
appearance:pale amber with white head
flavor:light sweetness and bitterness
palate:smooth body,creamy texture,average carbonation,bitter finish
overall: enjoyed the interplay of sweetness and bitterness, resin and fruit with a velvety smooth mouth feel. Stew41 (1042), Caulfield, Australia Apr 5, 2008 Dry, raspy, herbal style. Some metallic dryness works well. Middle weight in terms of flavour intensity but its well made. DubC5000 (195), San Diego, California, USA Apr 2, 2008 Nice IPA, not too bitter, golden corn colored brew. Hints of honey, citrus and melon, and of course, lots of hops. Good with pizza. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Mar 30, 2008 Clear amber with a fleeting white head. Nice hop smell is grapefruit and floral. Smooth with a medium body. Hop driven flavors here are tart grapefruit and floral resin. Not much malt presence, but just enough to carry the medium intense hop flavors and offer a lightly sweet balance to the brew. Finishes tastefully bitter. Love the global warming inspired surfer on the label. 6157 presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Mar 27, 2008 Bottle. Beautiful gold with thick head which leaves an artistic inch of lace around the glass. That is the aroma I associate with IPAs. Strong citrus. Not overpowering, just perfect for the style. Powerful but restrained hop taste. Lots of delicious citrus taste. I love hops and for brewers it is easy to keep adding them but there is something enticing about hitting a clear note.
