Commercial Description:
Alaskan IPA is honey gold in color with a fruity, citrus aroma. An enticing blend of hops and our dry hopping process, in which hops are added directly to tanks during fermentation, give this brew a very intense, complex aromatic character with a refreshing hop finish.

On tap @ City Beer. Pours golden tone with full white head. Nose is bitter hops. The taste is the same. This is a very bland and boring beer. Drinkable, but only if nothing else is arouond, or if you wan’t to post more ratings :-)

Clean finish yet excessively hoppish for my tastes. Fizzy, watery mouthfeel. Not a beer I would drink again.

Bottle. Pours clear amber yellow with a large thinish off white head. Nose is really weak and maltish, not very IPA at all to me. Taste is clean but bland, not real flower/hoppiness that I like in an IPA. Finish is again clean but nothing happens worth noting.

Pours a see through amber with a small fizzy head. Slight aroma of hops and malt, really a pretty weak aroma for a IPA. Taste of malt, and a slight hint of a hop and bitterness at the finish. Very watery mouthfeel. This was just okay for me.

Blah. This was terrible. I did a double take on the label to make sure it really said IPA. Aroma was nothing. Could pick up some grassy hops, but barely. Pour was a standard medium gold with a thin off white ring for a head. Taste was like a bland amber ale. No hops and a hint of malt. Mostly just stale beer flavor. They really missed the mark with this one.

Pours an orange color in the glass with a small white head. Smells citrusy and floral with definite malt presence. Tastes light and crisp, a good balance of hops to malt. Tasty.

12 oz. bottle. Pours an orange/light amber color. Aroma: Hoppy, with a floral hint. Flavor: Slight bitterness, with just the right about of hops.

22oz bottle. Tinny, plasticy, strong catty urine, citruc acid, dried leaves and amonia in the nose. Flavor is strongly catty celery flavored hops, dried leaves, amonia, lemon juice, and dried lawn clippings. Can’t say I’m really digging this one, and after a full glass I’m pretty much sick of it. I think Alaskan whiffed on this one... but maybe the kind of hops they use really aren’t meant to be used in IPA, perhaps a bitter would be more suitable.
