yalnikim (776), Wellington, New Zealand May 3, 2009 Tasted 03/05/2009. 12oz bottle from Beerstore. Another well crafted strong hoppy (slightly hazy) pale ale from one of the famous new world producers. Again... it has that aromatic malt richness that seems to stand out so prominently in these clean hoppy US beers. Be nice to see just a shade less European specialty character in them, so that the excellent local hop character could show itself off a bit more. Lovely beer, in good condition, nonetheless. glennmastrange (807), hobe sound, Florida, USA May 1, 2009 Bottle. Light grain note for the malt, moderate aroma of flowers for the hops, no noticeable yeast smell, and a hint of wood in the background. Head is average sized, frothy, white with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear amber. Flavor is lightly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes moderately acidic and bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery, has a carbonation between lively and fizzy and finishes dry. Pretty simple on the aromas, but as crisp and clean as an IPA gets. jbye4334 (652), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA May 1, 2009 (bottle from B & B liquor in colorado springs). Pours a gold color. Medium white head. Moderate lacing. Hoppy and light citrus aroma. Hoppy taste with light bitterness. Smooth finish. Moderate lacing. alexanderj (2213), Chino Hills, California, USA Apr 26, 2009 On tap at Good Microbrew in LA. Color was a clearish dark gold. Aroam of sweet malt, caramel, citrus and flowers (just a bit of those). Flavor wasn’t really good; not nearly as good as the aroma. Decently bitter. Ok. can8ianben (903), Pasadena, California, USA Apr 23, 2009 After sampling a bunch of DIPAs at Naja’s IPA fest, this one didn’t really stand up on its own feet. A faint pine aroma, a bit too thin in the body. Bright orange color, thin white head. Not very impressed. greig (169), Hamilton, New Zealand Apr 23, 2009 Pale gold. Soft fluffy white head. Aroma of caramel and grapefruit. Same flavour. A little thin. Very tasty, but not a wow beer. arrogantb (695), Denver, Colorado, USA Apr 13, 2009 22oz bottle for $3.49 which is quite a rare price for a bomber these days. the first whiff of the bottle is instant grassy hops. It smells slightly more subdued in the glass. The color is yellow and the beer is quite clear. the flavor has some mild bitterness but not the hoppiness I expected after smelling the beer. Overall, not bad but given the quality of IPA’s these days it will be hard for this to compete.

orange straw colored pour with a soft soapy-like head and lots of sudsy foamy spots of lace.
the nose is a bit bubblegum-y with notes of grapefruit, orange and light non resinous pine... kinda like rosemary or juniper.
the palate has an odd sweetness which grows as it warms.... it reminds me a little of GF west coast in it’s combination of malty sweetness and pine... flavors of bubblegum, candied orange, caramel malt and a dry pine related finish.
medium body with and average mouth feel and pleasant carbonation from the tap. 6/3/6/3/14/3.2
