Commercial Description:
Alaskan IPA is honey gold in color with a fruity, citrus aroma. An enticing blend of hops and our dry hopping process, in which hops are added directly to tanks during fermentation, give this brew a very intense, complex aromatic character with a refreshing hop finish.

On tap at Good Microbrew in LA. Color was a clearish dark gold. Aroam of sweet malt, caramel, citrus and flowers (just a bit of those). Flavor wasn’t really good; not nearly as good as the aroma. Decently bitter. Ok.

After sampling a bunch of DIPAs at Naja’s IPA fest, this one didn’t really stand up on its own feet. A faint pine aroma, a bit too thin in the body. Bright orange color, thin white head. Not very impressed.

Pale gold. Soft fluffy white head. Aroma of caramel and grapefruit. Same flavour. A little thin. Very tasty, but not a wow beer.

22oz bottle for $3.49 which is quite a rare price for a bomber these days. the first whiff of the bottle is instant grassy hops. It smells slightly more subdued in the glass. The color is yellow and the beer is quite clear. the flavor has some mild bitterness but not the hoppiness I expected after smelling the beer. Overall, not bad but given the quality of IPA’s these days it will be hard for this to compete. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 04-13-2009 19:16:55

on tap at papago... orange straw colored pour with a soft soapy-like head and lots of sudsy foamy spots of lace. the nose is a bit bubblegum-y with notes of grapefruit, orange and light non resinous pine... kinda like rosemary or juniper. the palate has an odd sweetness which grows as it warms.... it reminds me a little of GF west coast in it’s combination of malty sweetness and pine... flavors of bubblegum, candied orange, caramel malt and a dry pine related finish. medium body with and average mouth feel and pleasant carbonation from the tap. 6/3/6/3/14/3.2

Pours golden with decent foam that dissolves within a minute or so, leaving just a film. Slight, bittersweet aroma, but you have to really get your nose in there to pick up much. Carbonated, bitter, hoppy taste hits hard at the start, but then fades to a very manageable piney flavor that is pleasant enough. Decent mouthfeel, though the hops and bitterness do linger a bit longer than ideal, upon taking a few more tastes, I think this is a nice offering, good enough for a barbecue or a plate of wings, but not a night of serious beer tasting.

651 ml bottle. Pours a gold color with a decent, clingy white head that lasts. Lots of carbonation. Taste is of pine, hops and fruit. Has a nice bitterness to it. Similar aroma. Full, slightly oily body. Very easy to drink and rather refreshing.
