Commercial Description:
Alaskan IPA is honey gold in color with a fruity, citrus aroma. An enticing blend of hops and our dry hopping process, in which hops are added directly to tanks during fermentation, give this brew a very intense, complex aromatic character with a refreshing hop finish.

Pours a nearly clear gold with a thin beige head and sheeting lace. This is one of the palest and clearest IPAs that I’ve ever seen. The nose is floral, fruity and lightly citric with a mild pale malt note in support; pretty subdued for the style. On the medium side of light-bodied, the palate is fairly quaffable. While it’s not quite "slick" it’s fairly poundable for an IPA, finishing with a subdued bitterness. Mirroring the aroma, only with a touch more intensity and better integration, the flavor is a blend of floral, fruity and lightly citric hop notes over a light malt backing. While I’ve had several IPAs that are more pleasing to the nose and palate, I can think of no other that matches this one for quaffability. (I love making up words.) Overall, its a decent IPA disguised as a pretty solid session beer. Given it’s ABV, that has the potential to be a dangerous combination.

A little on the thin side, but overall pretty well balanced, with nothing overwhleming the other. The hops characteristics are kind of eccentric, with lots of cascade qualities. Very dry on the palate, but clean and crisp. Could use a bit more maltiness.

Copper pour with white head. Typical aroma of an IPA. Flavor is not as hoppy as the nose lets on, flavor is light citrus at first then fades into a malty balance. Finish is not really over the top hoppy like a lot of west coast IPAs. Rather clean finish.

Pours an almost honey yellow color with a somewhat thick white head that leaves a little bit of lace on the glass. Smells more malty than hoppy to me. Just a bit of hops on the nose. Tastes nice and hoppy, not too much not too little. Quite a bit of malty flavor on the finish as well. Thinnish palate, nice crisp carbonation. Leaves a little coating on the mouth. Good IPA, attractive price $2.99.

Sampled at the 2007 Blooms & Brews Fest at the Oregon Gardens. Pours a clear golden color with a small head. Nose is floral. Taste is citrussy and grassy. Fniish is smooth. Body is medium. Tasty and easy to drink.

Pours a clear golden hue with a frothy white head with decent lacing. Aromas of wheat, hay, a light citrus and some more grains...Lacking much hop character in the aroma. Mouth feel is light bodied. Flavors similar to the aromas with a semi dry finish. mmmmm... lacking something.
