Commercial Description:
Alaskan IPA is honey gold in color with a fruity, citrus aroma. An enticing blend of hops and our dry hopping process, in which hops are added directly to tanks during fermentation, give this brew a very intense, complex aromatic character with a refreshing hop finish.

On tap. The pour was very light copper in color with a super short white head that created average lacing. The aroma was nice with some soft citrus, floral and a bit of pine hops. The flavor was a combination of the aforementioned hops and some spice and malt. A thin bodied, easy drinking IPA.

650 ml bottle from Bevmo. Pours a translucent gold color with a big white head. The aroma is mildly hoppy with clean citrus notes. The flavor is a bit mild for an IPA (at least compared to the CA IPA’s). There is grapefruit, pine and caramel. The mouthfeel is a bit on the thin side at least to my expectations. The finish is long with lingering biter hops. Overall: Fairly ordinary IPA, not up to extreme session standards.

Tap at the Yard House Las Vegas. I don’t believe how low this beer is rated. Aroma is full with grapefruit and blossom, hops aren’t immense but they are present and accounted for. Good citric intensity with piney outlines. Highly drinkable yet well-crafted.

Pours hazy golden-orange with a small white head. Aroma is light citrus and piney. Sweet with grapefruit citrus and drying mid-range hop finish.

Cloudy orange with thick white head. Rough hop flavour, thin mouthfeel and short palate. Good but not outstanding.

Poured out of a 22 oz bottle. Hue is nice and pale. Flavor is very crisp and has a thin lacey head. Worth a try if you can find it, though I had never seen it around before.

SDFOB ’08. Draft. Color a bit hazy hay. Aromas of citrus. Taste is thin without much hops. Not Alaskan’s best beer, but alright.
