Commercial Description:
Alaskan IPA is honey gold in color with a fruity, citrus aroma. An enticing blend of hops and our dry hopping process, in which hops are added directly to tanks during fermentation, give this brew a very intense, complex aromatic character with a refreshing hop finish.

12oz bottle from Lukas Liquors in Lone Tree. Pours golden with white head. Aroma is grassy hops, bready malts with light citrus. Flavor is citrus, hops, and some malt. Flavor is much more present than the aroma. Nice carbonation. Nothing speacial but cheers to my first beer from Alaska.

Bottle shared by mmtmatrix. Poured a clear golden color with a moderate white head that faded to a ring. Aroma of subdued earthy hops with some light pine. Lightly tart, citric entry leads into a moderately bitter, earthy hop hit with some lingering bitterness in the finish. Pretty nice mouthfeel, could have been a bit more aggressive though. Overall, solid.

[Bottle, thanks Skyview] Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma is floral hops--almost like a bad perfume, and malt. Taste is about the same, but a fair amount sweeter, and maybe with a hint of fruit--strawberry maybe? Thin mouthfeel. Not that good.

Rather light. Mild ,but balanced, hopping with a nice lingering bitterness on the finish.

An OK IPA. Orange pour with a small head. Aroma of malt and piney hops. Taste is mostly malt with a end hoppy bitterness. Not a bad everyday drinker.

Bottled: Weak floral hop nose with a hint of peach and pear fruitiness and a metallic detractive note; toasty maltiness that’s only slightly bitter; somewhat watery palate. meh

12oz bottle. Pours a crystal clear, pale golden body with a finger-width, foamy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a lot of nice lacing. Aroma is caramel and sweet, piney citrus. Same flavor with some honey in there as well. Impressive balance with lots of nice, soft caramels and easy on the palate piney hops. Slightly dry with a moderate bitter finish. Not as dry as some more intense IPAs. Palate is medium bodied and very quaffable. Overall, a nice, well balanced IPA. Very drinkable and a great session IPA.

One has hopes for a brewery with decent sized distribution to produce a tasty IPA, alas this one misses on several levels. More of a boring APA than an IPA, not enough of anything to make it interesting. Please re-spin this recipe and try again.
