Commercial Description:
Alaskan IPA is honey gold in color with a fruity, citrus aroma. An enticing blend of hops and our dry hopping process, in which hops are added directly to tanks during fermentation, give this brew a very intense, complex aromatic character with a refreshing hop finish.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear golden yellow with a big rocky white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is mild spicy and grassy hops with some sweet slightly vegetal malts.

The flavor is some sweet malts with a earthy, grassy hop finish that has some decent bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with some sharp carbonation.

Overall, a pretty average IPA. I didn’t really care for the flavor profile. I prefer brighter fruitier hops.

#573 (Harmon KilleBREW) This is a weird IPA. Aroma is wonderfully piny upon opening the bottle. Appearance comes out some hazy deep yellow much like a morning urination, with no head to speak of. Flavor is actually nice, but overwhelmed by the flat palate that is almost like a cream-ale feel.

Rich golden amber color, well carbonated. Tangy hoppy citrus aroma. Sweet sharpe-like flavor on the tongue. Has some white bread characteristics. Not much of a hop bite, more like a pale ale. Sits mild on the palate at the end, hops should be screaming at the back of the tongue. Not bad though.

Pleasantly surprised, Poured on tap into a standard pint glass. Poured a bubbly sun yellow. Nose was of basic PNW hops. Taste was nice, slightly sweet but simple body, Tasted like it was just crystal 40 and carapils and then a handfull of hops. For a basic IPA its not too bad.

Bomber thanks to Wavers1....Big nose of malt and grapefruit, color is a dirty cloudy orange with a nice head. Taste however is not blow your hair back amazing, but still pretty palatable. Some floral hop notes, some malt, modest carbonation.Malt is stronger than the fruit, Im thinking this could be a bit more balanced. Finish has a light bitter, and has a somewhat tart and dry finish. Not bad....this should rate higher, but I may have a good bottle too.....never know.

~Pours translucent golden coulor with fluffy white head. Nice lacing. ~Earthy hop aroma with citrusy notes ~ Really not much to the flavor. Kinda bland. Am I tasting this correctly? I did just have another IPA. Maybe it’s overpowering this one? Just ate some peanuts to clear my palate. Still hardly any taste. Very mild hop taste. Weird. This is an IPA? ~ Creamy with a quick finish ~ This beer is definetly a drinkable beer. It’s like drinking air sprinkled with a tinge of bitterness. There is hardly any flavor. The scent is nice. Could it be that this beer is so well balanced with hops and malts that it canceled out all the flavor? I am so mystified by this beer and its non existent flavor that I have to give it a decent overall score. Will have to try again...

Bomber from BevMo in Scottsdale. Clear light amber pour and small white head with a little lacing. Fresh pine and spruce aroma. Mild citrus and biscuity flavor with notes that reminded me of their Winter Ale. Mouthfeel a bit on the thin side. Dry snappy finish. Not your everyday IPA and worth a try if you can get your glass on one.

Of all the Alaskan beers I’ve had, this is probably the best. Compared to their pale, you’d think it came from a different brewery. It has a more fuller body and a great aroma, a golden yellow color and nice white head. Clean, hoppy flavor and refreshingly good.
