Commercial Description:
Alaskan IPA is honey gold in color with a fruity, citrus aroma. An enticing blend of hops and our dry hopping process, in which hops are added directly to tanks during fermentation, give this brew a very intense, complex aromatic character with a refreshing hop finish.

Draft at Yard House, Las Vegas. Poured a clear amber color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate sour hoppy aroma. Medium body. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a good drinkable brew.

Draught @ WABF 2008. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. Has a light malty aroma with some citrus hoppy hints. Sweet malty hoppy flavor with citrus hints. Has a malty hoppy finish with a long hoppy aftertaste.

Bottle (A070507). Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (resin). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter, slightly husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Not very impressed with this one...rather lean, simple, and kind of husky.

Aroma is hoppy - I say floral and citrus. Golden amber color with a white head that filmed and left lacey tatters. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Floral, citrusy fruity hop. The malt is hardly in it - but call it light caramel. The finish is so nicely bitter, with floral, fruit, pine and a small hit of citrus. This is way underrated. Trust me. Minor point: can light pine resemble floral/citrus? I’m torn on that. Bottom line: good stuff.

Bottle. The body was dark gold with an off white colored head. The aroma was strong grapefruit with some peanuts and apples. The taste was grapefruit with some spice. A light piney finish. A nice overall IPA that I would buy a lot more if I could get locally.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at John’s Marketplace in Portland, Oregon. Pours a semi-hazy golden amber brew with a decent off-white head that has some good retention and lacing. Aroma of some caramel malt and a touch of grapefruit zest. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with a decent balance of caramel malt and flowery hops. Finish is slightly dry with a sweet grapefruit and caramel flavor. Not an over the top IPA to impress the hopheads but wold be considered a good American Pale Ale.

Bottle (22oz). Hazy light brass pour, 2cm foamy/creamy white head. Sweet and juicy aroma - pineapple, mango and tangerine, some acidic resin and citrus zest. The taste is quite light - pine resin and tart tropical fruit, a little thin around the edges, nice and crisp, but not all that carbonated, a little watery and acidic in the finish. Decent, I’d drink it again - goes down easy and doesn’t pack a huge punch.
