May 14, 2008 Sample in the Alaskan tap room. This beer is a decidedly clear yellow color with a medium and foamy ivory head that burns away slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. Fresh resiny hops aroma with some malt present as well. Light-bodied and clean with hops, fruit and malt flavors all in fairly equal representation. The finish is midlly bitter with a short hops aftertaste. Overall an interesting take on an IPA, but average all around.

Apr 8, 2007 Reminds me a lot of bridgeport ipa. Floral citrus hops throughout without much sweetness up front. Crisp and dry in the finish with a slight pine resin aftertaste. Pours clear amber with a soft white head.

Aug 31, 2007 22. Pours a very slightly hazy medium amber with a thickish, sudsy platinum blande head that falls away with film almost right away. Minimal lacing. Bready, slightly sweaty nose with a modest--though refreshing--piney cargo. Medium body, active carb, and more yeasty, bready, lightly piney flavors. Somewhat refreshing, and it’s drinkable, but there’s really not much happening here. No obvious flaws, though, either.

Oct 24, 2007 Light gold color. Thin white head. Lightly grapefruity aroma. It’s got some citrus and a little sweetness, but its not very assertive. Not alot going on here. Pretty boring IPA, but I dont expect alot out of Alaskan in terms of assertive hoppiness.

Oct 11, 2005 Updated: Feb 4, 2009Bright golden hue. Head is nice and first but fades. Vibrant vanilla-like nose. Smooth, soft and tingly texture. Aromatic malts, laden with caramel and honey. Flowery and herbal hops; a little citrus; grassy bitterness. Decent, easy-to-drink IPA.

Jul 10, 2008 Tough to compare after having the Hop Wallop! Hazy deep bronze, decent head. Sweet aroma, leafy and citrus hops. Fairly light mouthfeel, nothing over-aggressive in the hop department, an IPA that seems to have been made with 3/4 of the ingredients all around.

Nov 6, 2007 Bomber pours clear gold with bright white head. The aroma smells like white granular sugar and mild citrus hops. It seems to have the standard IPA flavor with citrus hops that run from bitter grapefruit to slightly less bitter tangelo. Also there’s some malty to bland sugary sweetness.

Aug 2, 2009 12oz. Bottle: Aroma of hops and caramel malt. Poured gold/yellow in color with a small, off-white head that diminished but lasted as a film on top of the beer. Clear. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is medium bitter. Tastes of hops, grass, pine, and slight caramel malts. Medium body. Slightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Medium bitter hop finish.
