DrBayern (954), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Jul 29, 2007 Draft at Billy’s Bar and Grille in Aberdeen, WA on 7/23/07. Light amber with a moderate lasting whtie head and nice lace - a good looking beer. Mild piney op aroma with some substantial caramel malt character. Smooth medium body. Caramel and roasted malt flavors with very soft bitterness in a fading finish. Underwhelming.
Nik925 (136), California, USA Sep 2, 2008 Metal dominates the taste, followed by some funky malt...not a good combo. LOW, unreasonably low hop flavor for an IPA, and what little hop flavor remains is not that great. Ugly color, little head. Other than all that, not bad. Gurst (319), Ann Arbor, Wisconsin, USA Aug 25, 2008 Citrus hops throughout, some flowers too. More on the mild than wild, but it turns it into a good session beer. Clean body, taste dissipates fairly quickly. Brewsmith (54), Torrance, California, USA Aug 19, 2008 From a 220z. bottle purchased locally. Aroma is pineapple and some citrus. Color is a clear gold with a half inch white head. Bitter with some toasty malt. A touch of malty sweetness, but only a little. Hop flavor is earthy and a little piney. Carbonation may be a touch too much, a little CO2 bite. Clean and dry with a little lingering bitterness and hop flavor. Not bad over all. buzzoven (122), Japan Aug 15, 2008 Bottle at Paley’s Place, Portland. Beautiful tawny tan colour. Aroma of creamed caramel, malts and corn. Smooth mouthfeel showcasing exquisite balance in it’s flavour. The slight bitter hint in the finish is excellent. A true classic IPA owing more to the UK style than monster hop bombs. jjpm74 (2953), Connecticut, USA Aug 15, 2008 Pours gold/amber with a white head. Smells of citrus and earthy. Tastes citrusy and nicely bitter with a grapefuit like finish. Nice!
