Oct 11, 2005 Updated: Feb 4, 2009Bright golden hue. Head is nice and first but fades. Vibrant vanilla-like nose. Smooth, soft and tingly texture. Aromatic malts, laden with caramel and honey. Flowery and herbal hops; a little citrus; grassy bitterness. Decent, easy-to-drink IPA.

Oct 5, 2005 GABF 2005. Golden, clear, with a frothy white head. Light grapefruit and pine aroma. A decent hop bite, more pine needles than citric grapefruit or lemon, but all are there. Mildly carbonated with a dry finish. I’d like to see a little more malt in the mix, it would make for a really good IPA.

Oct 23, 2009 6 pack from MCAS Miramar Marine Mart: Hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is lightly grassy citrus and pine. Flavor starts fruity sweet with citrus followed by a sweet, semi-dry grapefruit bitter finish. Medium body is creamy with moderate carbonation.

May 14, 2008 Sample in the Alaskan tap room. This beer is a decidedly clear yellow color with a medium and foamy ivory head that burns away slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. Fresh resiny hops aroma with some malt present as well. Light-bodied and clean with hops, fruit and malt flavors all in fairly equal representation. The finish is midlly bitter with a short hops aftertaste. Overall an interesting take on an IPA, but average all around.

Sep 29, 2009 #573 (Harmon KilleBREW) This is a weird IPA. Aroma is wonderfully piny upon opening the bottle. Appearance comes out some hazy deep yellow much like a morning urination, with no head to speak of. Flavor is actually nice, but overwhelmed by the flat palate that is almost like a cream-ale feel.

Aug 2, 2009 12oz. Bottle: Aroma of hops and caramel malt. Poured gold/yellow in color with a small, off-white head that diminished but lasted as a film on top of the beer. Clear. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is medium bitter. Tastes of hops, grass, pine, and slight caramel malts. Medium body. Slightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Medium bitter hop finish.

Jun 20, 2009 Draft. A golden beer with a lazing white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt and caramel as well as light notes of hops - my guess is Cascade. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and Cascade hops, leading to a dry, bitter, and grassy finish.

Apr 30, 2007 Sharp almost caustic hop bite up front wtih acidic citrus notes. Slight malt breadiness on the nose. I like more substantial and sweet malt in my IPA- I find that it allows me to appreciate the hop- so does that mean i’m not a hop head? If being a hop head means unadulterated hops than count me out. I have always preferred a dialectic to a diatribe. Thanks Dan.
