Apr 2, 2007 Copper pour with white head. Typical aroma of an IPA. Flavor is not as hoppy as the nose lets on, flavor is light citrus at first then fades into a malty balance. Finish is not really over the top hoppy like a lot of west coast IPAs. Rather clean finish.

Nov 17, 2009 Pours hazy golden-orange with a small white head. Aroma is light citrus and piney. Sweet with grapefruit citrus and drying mid-range hop finish.

Apr 10, 2007 12 oz. bottle, from Fred Meyer in Newberg, OR. Pours clear orangey-amber with a small off-white head that diminished quickly. Nice hoppy aroma, floral and citrus with undertones of toasty malts and fresh summer fruit. Flavor is a strange combination of brash and mild, with a nice hop blast that seemed to come and go as I sipped - one time it hit me up front, then quickly gave way to mild toasty malt water, then another time, the mild toasty malt water started out and the hop blast came on in the finish - weird! Anyway, hops are floral and citrus with a bit of spiciness and the malts remain lightly toasty with periodic glimpses of toffee. Light to medium body and agressive carbonation. Not my favorite IPA by any stretch, but definiitely different and interesting.

Mar 30, 2005 Draught @ Brouwer’s Cafe pours light amber, orange hued, small milky white head, strong carbonation, with very nice brewers lace. Not terribly hop oriented on the nose, malty however, and even maybe a bit of tobacco. Slightly bitter tongue, more tobacco, and also some grapefruit. At least it has a decent malt backbone. Body and mouthfeel seem fairly average. Malty finish, luckily very slight tobacco this time, with lingering grapefruit. Doesn’t seem as hoppy/crisp as most other IPAs. Needs more HOP JUICE!

Feb 6, 2009 Draft at Yard House, Las Vegas.
Poured a clear amber color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate sour hoppy aroma. Medium body. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
This is a good drinkable brew.

Mar 27, 2007 12oz bottle pours out a dark gold topped with a nice white head. A great aroma and tast of hops. pretty good for a IPA from Alaska. O ya what is up with the surfer on the bottle???

Apr 21, 2007 Nice hoppy taste and aroma not very bitter. The malt flavor really has trouble coming against the hops. A decent IPA but nothing outstanding amongst the many other choices that are available.

Burnished gold - clear with medium off white head. Lean malt background (light caramel) with medium light body - An un-east coast IPA - firm bitterness with pine, grapefruit pith characteristics.
Nothing too much in the aroma some grapefruit and floral notes
Good beer nothing special to seek out
