It was a decent, malty golden ale, but I’d been hoping for something a little hoppier. I probably preferred the Coldfoot Pilsner from Silver Gulch. Easy-drinking ale. AmazonMatt (285), Panama

Re-rated from the tap at Pikes in Fairbanks. Not as good as I had hoped. Was watered down. I assume that Pike’s is to blame for that, but I am going to drop the rating by 0.1 hayduke (1661), Eureka, California, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 1, 2005 (12 oz bottle) The brewery calls this a golden ale, but it can’t be because I really like this beer. Quite flavorful and dominated by a smooth, but rich pale maltiness, it’s also quite fruity and moderately sweet, but very lightly bitter. The nose is also dominated by the sweet aroma of a light malt. Very smooth and creamy palate, and naturally easy to drink. Golden orange in color and very hazy in appearance. The off-white head pours to an average size, and gradually settles to a full, unbroken film, leaving plenty of oddly-shaped patterns of lace, including one that looks like a squirrel sitting on its hind legs. Golden ale or pale ale, this is pretty solid for either style. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of malt, hopcit, some honey. Tastes malty, with some citrus, hops, and honey at the finish. Smooth and drinkable. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 28, 2005 Out of the bottle this brew pours a nice amber, very clear, with a medium off-white head. Nice citrus hops in the aroma but a light dishsoap smell behind them. Taste starts with nice sweet malt backing finished off by fresh citrus hops, very floral and nice, with a mild bitterness to balance. This is a very crisp, easy drinking, smooth pale ale.
