| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 18, 2005 Deep brown with a fluffy tan head and some lacing. A little coffee and vanilla in the aroma with plenty of roasted malt. Dark coffee and bittersweet chocolate along with more roasted malt in the flavors. Not as sweet as many oatmeal stouts. Definately a bit thin for a stout - could easily be mistaken for a porter (but a good one at that). atpayne (615), Zionsville, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 7, 2005 Drinking at home sitting on the couch watching a movie. Dark black with the faintist blueish tones and a thin tan head. Aroma is chocolate and round roasted malt with a slight sweetness. There is also a vanilla aroma, but it is very light. The flavor is sweet malt and vanilla mix at the front of the mouth followed by a nice dry roasted malt finish. DrunkenWeasel (218), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 6, 2005 Pours black, medium tan head that disappears quickly, almost no lacing. Smells of bitter chocolate and malts. Flavor is interesting of sweet chocolate, after taste rather bland and somewhat bitter for such an intially sweet beer. jeffin7 (610), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Jan 28, 2005 Pours black with a thin head that disappears instantly. Even though there is little head formation the beer is highly carbobated and fizzes like cola. Aroma is a robust sweet chocolate and burnt malt. Flavor is sweet chocolate and bitter dark roasted malt. The over carbonation (which I like more then most in many styles) makes the mouthfeel a bit odd for a stout. I appreciate the accertive aroma and flavor but with the minor flaws this is not yet a great beer. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 27, 2005 Out of the bottle this stout pours black with a medium light tan head. Sweet lightly roasty chocolate aroma soars into your nose bringing with it a carry-on bag, 2lbs. over weight of coffee tones. Taste is a smooth ride from sweet chocolate up front to an almost smokey coffee like finish. Very dry in the finish. Not overly bitter, still allowing trailing sweetness in the finish. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 26, 2005 Pours a pitch black color with some head and little lace.
Aroma is sweet, almost like molases, coffee, and caramel
Taste is sweet coffee and dark fruits. Palate is creamy typical of Oatmeal Stouts. Overall, it’s pretty good but nothing overly special. Oh, I should add that the bottle has changed from the picture here.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 7, 2004 Pours deep and dark in color. Nice rich aroma off roasted malts and chocolate. Rich roasted malt flavor. Some coffee and chocolate present as well as a little hop flavor. Smooth, somewhat syrup like mouthfeel. shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 6, 2004 Pour was black with a small thin head. I could smell it before I even brought the glass to my nose. The aroma was mild chocolate and some coffee. The mouthfeel was creamy and smooth with hints of the coffee and chocolate I had smelled. Nothing bitter, nothing offensive. Easy drinking.
