Pours dark mahogany with a thick, well retained, light brown head. Solid sheets of lacing slowly break apart into tattered ribbons. The aroma shows mild cocoa notes, with dried oats, grains, and hints of mocha with cream. Roasted coffee, and earthy, peppery hops complete the nose. The flavor is indeed sweet for a stout, with dark caramel, cocoa powder, and sweet lactose outweighing the roasty coffee and earthen hop elements. Although the palate is smooth, is is very thin for the style. Finishes mostly clean. Decent enough to session, but not much else, this brew just lacks substance to me.

Color is a deep black with light carbonation and a thin tan head. Aroma is a mild sweet roasted scent. Taste is dry, roasted and sweet. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a crisp feel. Finish comes in with a light sweet roasted taste that has a faint chocolate note to it then a very mild bitterness. After taste is dry with a little more bitterness. Overall its a bit weak and not as smooth as I think an Oatmeal Stout should be

Appearance: Pours a dark midnight brown with a 1 inch tan head that subsides into a tan, sudsy stripe. Aroma: Chocolate, coffee, roasted malts. Taste: A nice dry burst of cocoa, coffee and smoke right away. A small bit of hopping is present in the finish. Mouthfeel: That silkiness one gets from a good oatmeal stout, and a tad bit of stickiness. Overall: A great example of a classic. Highly aromatic and flavorful. I would love to make some mussels with this as well.

Pours very dark with a thick, coffee colored head. The aroma is sweet and roasty, but not overpoweringly strong. The flavor is where this beer really shines. It has a hint of sweetness, but is mostly roasted malts with a bit of a bitter aftertaste. The beer is a bit creamy in the mouth and is very easy to drink.

12oz bottle. Pours black with an initially 1/2 inch foamy tan head wich dssapeared quickly. Aromas of sweet oats, and roasted malts. Nutty and roasty flavors, vanilla and coffee as well. Overall pretty okay, but much better for the price available.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown / black with a thin brown head that quickly diminishes to a thin collar.

The aroma is a bit subdued but nice - sweet grainy chocolate malts and some coffee.

The flavor is sweet lactic and nutty chocolate malts with some coffee notes. It has a roasted dry finish that balances the sweetness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly watery and chalky.

Overall, a nice easy drinking stout.
