Commercial Description:
Based on the traditional style of Kölsch beer brewed in Cologne, Germany. Haines Booth Our Crew loves the chance to hook up with Alaskan fans at festivals! Flavor Profile: Alaskan Summer Ale balances a softly malted palate with the clean freshness of Hallertauer hops. In the tradition of the style, neither overpowers the other. Both hops and malt come together to refresh and renew the palate. The straw-gold color and easy drinkability are an enjoyable way to celebrate summer. History: Brewed in our original brewhouse in 1997, this beer is part of our Rough Draft series and has met success with each limited edition release. The enthusiastic reception led the Brew Crew to bring it to the West Coast as a summer seasonal. Ingredients: Water, malt, hops and yeast with no adjuncts, no preservatives and no pasteurization. Our glacier-fed water originates in the 1,500 square-mile Juneau Ice Field. Crafted from Pale, Munich, Vienna and wheat malts, with Hallertauer hops and our own house yeast.

Draft from mini keg. OK nose fruit & carmel come to mind. Orange golden color. Bitter flavors, though not overwhelming. Fruity, creamy mouthfeel, Dry finish. Tasty brew. Had this at Sandy beach in Juneau as part of tour on brew cruise with Alaskan brewing crew.

Another excellent brew from an excellent brewery. Smooth and mild, slightly sweet and creamy; just what you would want on a hot summer day here in Las Vegas.

Not really too much to this beer at all. I had it with some cheese and could barley taste the beer. It is a little on the yeasty side and dind’t really provide much kick. You could do a lot worse but also a lot better too

The beer after its renunciation of the 12-ounce brown bottle sets in my glass a luminous gold color with a monster sized white head that is semi-creamy in texture, as it disappears rather quickly, the lace formed is a thin white veil upon the glass. Nose is rich in malt sweetness, a hint of hops and a real crisp freshness that I find appealing, start is sweet with a nice malt presence, the top is medium in feel. Finish has a moderate acidity, the hops perfect in their spicy bite, very dry aftertaste and a nice drinking beer.

Much fuller bodied than I was expecting from a summer beer, I liked it. Smooth, balanced, very drinkable. Nice thick white head sits on top of a pale body. Low in carbonation. Aroma has a dry maltiness to it. Flavor and bitterness are both accordingly light. The thing that puts this beer apart from other kolsch beers is its texture. It has a really nice almost creamy texture that you usually only get in heavier darker beers. Another great beer by Alaskan.

Had at a Pizza Parlor. The pizza was good. The beer was decent. Tasted like a pale ale to me, I don’t know what a Kolsh is?

Light golden color with a smallish off white head. Light fruit aroma with a touch of dry malt and flowers. Flavors are lightly fruity. Malt comes back slighly in the finish. A decent kolsch.

This was a tasty beer. Not a "big" beer in any sense of the word, but flavorful, even with it’s light body. It was fruity, well balanced and enjoyable.
