Don’t know color, it was too dark to see. Moderate head, decent lacing and retention. Aroma is caramelly with funky pineyness. Fairly fruity. Somewhat different despite being somewhat bland as well. Interesting, fairly enjoyable.

Pours an amber color with floral aromas, taste is sweet with a bit of spices, good brew but one of those brews you cant have too many of cause the taste starts to get a little to sweet.

Bottle. Pours an orange-amber with a small light tan head. Aroma is roasted nuts, touch of caramel. Taste is a little sweet, some spice, a bit bitter, citrus on the tongue way in the back, leaves the mouth oily. nice brew for a winter, i was pleasantly surprised.

12 oz bottle via Rorh’s. Pours a crystal clear amber with a small beige head. Tons of tiny bubles leap to the surface of my glass mug. Nose is toffeeish with and biscuity. Taste starts with some sweet caramel, then some almost burnt flavors come through, some toastiness, some toffee, some subtle earthy hops and perhaps a little ginger in the finish which is likely the spruce tips, and then the sweetness returns. Body is medium and carbonation is high. 9/21/209 rerate-original was 7/3/7/3/14=3.4. 12oz bottle via Hagen. Pours a clear copper with a small off-white head. THe nose is malty and tea with some mild fusels. Taste starts with some sweet crystal malt tea flavors, a little caramel, then a LOT of nuttiness, buttered biscuits, rye, herbal hops and a very earthy hay-like finish. Figgy/chocolate oatmeal cookie aftertaste...grandma’s cookies come to mind. This is really yummy malt driven stuff, not sweet, but definately malt driven. love the toasty/hutty flavors. Body is medium, carbonation is medium to moderate. Love it.

Very malty and sweet. An orange brown color, with a thin white head. It has a bit too much of a thin alcohol feel and somewhat heavy carbonation. I end up wishing it had more bittering mouthfeel - from the discription I was expecting more pine scent or flavour from the addition of the spruce tips. Oh well, it’s from Alaska and that’s gotta be a plus :)

Nice amber color,small off white head that had a decent hangtime then faded quickly leaving just a hint behind.The aroma was malty and some caramel with a slight piney note.The flavor came off as fairly good,some nice malt to it a bit of caramel or toffee some mild hints of pine and citrus with a good fairly decent finish.Over all pretty good brew but seems to lack the alcohol punch of some other OA’s i remember from the past...still a good brew nontheless.

Bottle. Nice orangey dark brown color but not as opaque as I’d like. Strong aroma with straw, roasted malt, nuts. Taste has creamy sweet caramel, spices, nice tangy citrus hop finish, raspberries. I like it.

Absolutely noticeable notes of spruce stand out above the balanced bittering and a good dose of malt. Lovely golden-orange color in the glass.
