I’ll assume this looks like beer because the can is not see through. Smells of metallic corn, mild hay and some less than impressive hops actually not that bad for a bargain beer. Taste is light and crisp with zero skunk or rotten malt flavours. Light grassy malts with a very mild metallic/hop finish, the sweet after taste lingers forever. For the price this aint that bad, I’m not saying this was an awesome beer but for cheap ass bargain canned swill this was drinkable. pootzboy (1048), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 26, 2004 My impression of this beer may have a lot to do with the environment I sampled it in and the fact I only had one. I had one last weekend at the foot of the glacier in Cameron lake in Waterton park (a beautiful postcard of a place) after a 5 klick hike to the US side of the lake.
Sorry but I had a can and the true color may differ from my impression of it being way too pale for a draft type beer (Smoothed in cold-filtering process). The aroma was nearly undetectable but the taste was nice and smooth (low hopping) with a nice bready malt after taste. If they use some adjuncts to cheapen the process and make this a pogue-boy beer, it was not detectable and well buried in this thin-bodied beer. One of the better draft-style standard mega beers out there.
To me, it came off well for what BR had intended this brew to be....a smooth, mild-tasting draft style affordable beer for chugging on a hot day or after a work out. Workin’ man’s draft...does Johnny Paycheck know about these Canuck stagger-sodies?...He may switch from his draft Colorado cool-ade ;-) Crit (2405), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada

A short history....Big Rock now owns Whistler. I strongly suspect this is a revamped version of Whistler Lager with slightly less malt and slightly more hops. Will re rate when I find it at a decent bar jerc (3936), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Mar 20, 2006 Can. Yellow body, with a small head that fades very quickly. Sweet cereally aroma. Flavour is sweet and grainy, minute hoppy bitterness, with a bit more showing up in the finish. Sort of strange aftertaste... like licking an envelope? Not unpleasant but quite dull. Average palate is suprisingly not too thin considering. Dull. Mullo (102), Brisbane, Australia
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 5, 2005 Too commercial. I had this draft, and it poured really well, with a fatastic head and lacing. A general standard type lager (citrus/grapefruity hops, and a light grain malt, and with a slight soapiness). Not very adventurous, for the not very adventurous drinker. Ya, it’s pretty much junk but what do you expect from something called Alberta Genuine Draft? At least there is no attempt to make this look like something it’s not. Yellowish beer producing almost no head - just drink it out of the can. Grain and lots of corn and some metallic aroma, taste is not much different except for some bleck hops. Thin mouthfeel, highly carbonated. Goes down pretty well. It’s cheap! OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Aug 23, 2004 Can. Yellow colour with a thick, mostly lasting creamy white head. Aroma is grassy and lightly floral. Sweet honey and corn flavours, faint nutty bitter finish. Dry and creamy mouthfeel. Typical pale lager. CapFlu (3483), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Sep 15, 2004 (Can) Mmm... canned beer. I didn’t know that Big Rock made this? Hmm. It pours a lasting, creamy white head and a golden body. Nose is of corn and cereal. Sweet malt flavour is at the fore-front while corn and a lemony flavours finish off the undertones. Somewhat subpar...
