Apr 28, 2009 For me this was the most distintive and noteworthy of the beers. It is an American style with much bigger flavor impact and hops presence. Color dark amber to Ruby , clear, nice lacing, low but OK carbonation so you do get some favorable acidic effect, Plenty of Hops and licorice.

Poured a black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted and produced excellent lacing. Medium to heavy roasted coffee and chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy roasted flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration.
Very good drinkable brew.

Feb 21, 2009 tap at the Indy brewpub - Pours very dark brown and has a light roast malt aroma. The flavor is roast malt with a little chocolate. It’s medium bodied and nicely balanced with a finish that brings some bitterness.
